Technical integration of odour neutralizers and dust suppressant within standard environmental remediation action plans.
1. Purpose
This guide defines how Anotec 0307, PRO5L, and Anoguard Soil Binder integrate before, during, and after a standard Remediation Action Plan (RAP) for construction and brownfield sites. The products provide pathway control — physical suppression and neutralization of fugitive dust and odour at the source and boundary — they do not destroy contaminants in soil or groundwater, alter geochemistry, or replace treatment processes.
Integration focuses on predictable control of emissions during excavation, material handling, stockpiling, and bioremediation to maintain boundary compliance and worker exposure limits.
2. Product Snapshots
- Anotec 0307 – Water-miscible odour neutralizer for high-volume fogging, misting, and direct spraying. Dilution: 1:500 – 1:2000
- PRO5L – Hyper-concentrated neutralizer. >95% odour removal efficiency. Non-toxic, OECD 301 compliant. Dilution: 1:2000 – 1:5000
- Anoguard Soil Binder – Polymer-based dust suppression and erosion control. Forms surface crust. Biodegradable, non-chloride. Dose: 0.2–0.4 L/m² @ 1:10
3. Three-Phase Workflow
Phase Objective Anotec Action Typical Dose Verification Pre-works / Source Control Establish baseline, seal haul routes and pads Deploy perimeter misting. Pre-treat stockpile pads, batters, haul roads with Anoguard 0307: 1:1000–1:2000
Anoguard: 0.2 L/m² (1:10) PM10 baseline; no visible dust Active Earthworks / Demolition Suppress fugitive emissions during disturbance Continuous misting at source and boundary. Direct spray on active face. Re-apply Anoguard 0307: 1:500–1:1000
PRO5L: 1:2000–1:5000
Anoguard: 0.3–0.4 L/m²
Cycle: 30s on / 90–180s off H2S <5 ppm, NH3 <25 ppm; PM10 <80 µg/m³ (1hr) Post-works / Validation Maintain control during validation Reduce to standby misting. Final Anoguard seal. Demobilise after validation 0307: 1:1500–1:2000
Anoguard: 0.2 L/m²
Cure: 4 hrs Return to baseline PM10; reapply after >25mm rain
4. Integration Points with Remediation
Flow: RAP Approval → Pre-works: 0307 + Anoguard → Excavation → Active: 0307/PRO5L mist → Stockpiling → Anoguard seal → Bioremediation* → Validation → Standby + Handover
* During bioremediation, maintain Anoguard crust and intermittent PRO5L perimeter misting. Products sit outside the treatment train and do not interfere with validation sampling if applied as per dose.
5. Design Checks
- Droplet Size: 10–30 µm for vapour-phase odour; 50–100 µm for surface wetting/dust
- Solution pH: Maintain 6.5–8.5 in dosing tank
- Monitoring: H2S, ammonia at boundary; PM10 upwind/downwind; wind speed/dir logged
- Hydraulic Control: Avoid over-wetting. Design for infiltration, not runoff
- Compatibility: Do not mix with oxidizers, strong acids, or chlorine-based products
6. Benefits
- Aligns with BATNEEC principles
- Reduces community odour and dust complaints
- Protects workers from nuisance exposure
- Non-chloride, non-corrosive formulations
- Readily biodegradable, OECD compliant
7. Quick Start Checklist
- Identify receptors, prevailing wind; position upwind perimeter misting
- Commission dosing: 0307 @1:1000 or PRO5L @1:3000; verify 10–30 µm droplets
- Pre-treat haul roads/pads with Anoguard 0.2 L/m² (1:10); allow 4h cure
- Calibrate H2S, NH3, PM10 monitors; set action levels
- Maintain surface damp, not saturated; reapply Anoguard after >25 mm rain
